Tips For Home Fitness Gyms
Article by William M. Douglas
Mistakes are inevitable in almost everything in life, including home fitness gyms. Learning from the mistakes of others is incredibly helpful. Hopefully some of the tips below will help save you from some of the horror stories that I have heard.
1. Start at the beginning. Before you start buying large gym machines, don?t forget the basics. A lot of people will forget things like gym flooring or a rack for their dumbbells. Don?t forget some thing like a yoga mat to be able to stretch after your workouts as well. Thinking big is important once you have already thought small.
2. To cardio or not to cardio. Each person?s home fitness gym can be very different, so it is matter of your personal needs. Some people build their home gym to do a good deal of cardio, while others want to build muscle more than anything else. I had a small space to work with so I opted to not get a cardio machine and started biking and jogging in the park instead.
3. Measuring once is good, twice is better. You would be surprised how many people order a gym machine and when it arrives it doesn?t fit in the room they had selected. Be sure to map out your space and measure each wall twice. Don?t forget to measure the ceiling height particularly if your home fitness gym is in a basement.
4. Be safe. It is really exciting to set up your own home gym and take your fitness future in your own hands, but it can also be frightening if you don?t know what you are doing. There are tons of resources out there from the web to books and magazines showing you how to make the best use of what you have in a safe fashion. Oftentimes, you can get your trainer from your old gym or just hire a free lance trainer to come check out your home gym and set up a safe workout regime that you can follow.
5. Motivational music. For me, music is a huge motivator for while I am working out, but I got so tired of my headphone?s wire getting in the way constantly. When I built my home workout area, I installed a few wall mounted speakers so I could have the music I like playing while I exercise.
Hopefully these few helpful pointers will put you on the path towards a healthier you. Good luck!
