Since being sworn into the Senate in 2011, Rubio has only gotten to see his wife and four young children on weekend and holidays while Congress is in session.
The Daily Caller noticed that his four-bedroom, 2,649-square-foot home in West Miami is on the market for $675,000. According to records, Rubio bought the home in 2005 for $550,000.
Rubio's office confirmed that the Senator indeed plans to move his family to D.C., and enroll his children in schools there.
"If he can sell his home in Miami he would be able to afford to move his wife and kids to Washington during the school year and still own a home in Florida," spokesman Alex Conant told the site.
It's not particularly uncommon among politicians, especially those with young children. Former Representative Connie Mack IV, who ran unsuccessfully for Florida's other Senate seat this past year, had come under fire through out his career for living in Virginia with his kids and fellow ex-congresswoman wife, and rarely making appearances in his southwest Florida district.
