Obituaries: Jose Luis Ramirez Jr.

Jose Luis Ramirez, Jr. passed away on September 13, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer in Crescent City. A lifelong resident of Del Norte County, he was born on September 3, 1988, in Crescent City.

Jose attended St Joseph?s Catholic School, Crescent Elk and Del Norte High School.

He had previously worked at Denny?s as a cook before his illness. Jose enjoyed fishing, basketball and football.

Jose is survived by his parents Jose and Teresa Ramirez, the love of his life Ashley Hays, and son Ayden Ramirez, all of Crescent City; sisters Betty Ramirez of Brookings, Ore.; Patricia Ramirez of Crescent City; brother Shawn Ramirez of Brookings. Brother-in-law Hector Perez and sister-in-law Colee Ramirez, both of Brookings, Ore. Seven nephews, three nieces and numerous other family members and many friends.

Contributions may be made in Jose?s memory to the American Cancer Society, 1301 Northcrest Drive, Crescent City, CA 95531.

Visitation will be held at Wier?s Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, September 15, from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. with funeral services starting at 3:30 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier?s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
