Odds of obtaining into University of Virginia? | Education Reference

Question by ESPRBC17: Possibilities of getting into University of Virginia?
Properly I am going to be a senior at a nicely known Catholic H.S in New Jersey and I?ve pretty significantly determined that I want to go into Urban/City Preparing, and have discovered that the UVA offers the major and has a fairly great program for it. I went to go to it a couple weeks ago and fell in really like with it (ideal size, nice campus, not as well far away from home, but far enough for ?independence?,etc). But with the incredibly difficult admissions rate, I am afraid I won?t get in. Here are my stats, you be the judge:

Male
Minority (Hispanic- Puerto Rican to be more specific simply because I think they may well have their own section on tests sheets for race)
three.eight unweighted gpa
4.2 weighted
Have taken honors classes because late freshman year
Going to take AP Spanish, AP Human Geography, and AP Human Environmental Science senior year ( Have to self study geog and environmental science due to the fact they do not offer it at my school)
1600 SAT (Certainly not sending that haha)
Going to take the ACT in September (have been getting in between 28-30?s in practice tests)
National Honor Society
National Spanish Honor Society
Went on a study abroad trip to Argentina this summer with my college
President of Yearbook
Volunteer at hospice
Spanish tutor
In Student Ambassador Club at my school as nicely
**Couldnt do any sports due to the fact of an injury
Had a task all of sophomore year (was laid off due to economic climate)
Also had a job junior year but was also laid off due to economic climate
Arranging to get a task senior year
Study books to young children at an inner city medical clinic
Runner up f as a representative for the HUBY Leadership Seminar
Was in Operation Smile and Tomorrow?s Kids
Strategy on producing an AP Club for my college this upcoming year (So youngsters can study for the AP tests that the college dosent provide with other youngsters who are taking the identical subjects)

Because my SAT score is abysmal and the ACT will be a Massive aspect in my odds for acceptance, if hypothetically I did get a 28+ on it, and have killer essays and suggestions, do I stand a opportunity? What should I do to strengthen my chances? Please be honest, believe be I can take something hahaha. Also what other medium to small schools do you suggest for this key
(I already know of rutgers, but other options).

Do not send your SAT scores till they are above 1900 and preferably close to 2000. Your ACT score is acceptable but ought to be raised by at least one or two points.

There are many other aspects that the University of Virginia will take into consideration for admission.
