There have been some pretty big stories this week, but the one still grabbing the lions share of headlines is the Apple iPhone 5. Many have predicted a broad launch time of autumn 2011, Cnet have been a bit braver and actually pencilled in their definitive iPhone 5 release date.
Yesterday, on their blog they wrote,?We?ve charted the dates, earwigged the rumours and consulted our iPod Ouija board. After 16 hours of number-crunching on the CNET UK supercomputer, we have determined the most likely release date for the iPhone 5 ? 7 September 2011.?
The general feeling is that Apple will postpone the annual iPod refresh and use the space to unveil the iPhone 5 instead. This date could also be used to release iOS 5 as many feel the iPhone 5 will come pre-loaded with Apples? new mobile operating system.
Despite being confident in their predictions we?d hasten to add that other pundits have predicted a 2012 release date for the iPhone 5, we on the other hand agree with the September schedule. By that time, the iPhone 4 will be well over a year old (almost one and a half) and will struggle to compete with the likes of the new Nexus S 4G, it?s unlike Apple to simply rely on their name and they will want to lead from the front with a new shiny product.
Will Steve Jobs announce the iPhone 5 in September?
Last week we wrote two articles that supported a September iPhone 5 launch, first Paddy Power told us about some elevated betting trends on the iPhone 5 and later in the week we learnt that the iPhone 5 is in final testing before going into full scale production next month.
So we could be seeing the new iPhone 5 in just over two and half months, does that sound good to you?
